9 months

Okay so I'm a little late on Mia's 9 month post,

but hey at least I still have a couple days before she turns 10 months! :)

At 9 months my sweet Mia Lee:

is STILL wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes.

.

moved up to size 3 diapers. Yea for no more leaky diapers during the night.

.

weighed 15lbs 13oz at her 9 month check up- which is the 5% for weight.

.

is 27.75 in long- in the 55% for height.

.

loves her dog Doogle! As soon as she wakes up, she looks all around her room for Doogle. She has just started pointing to him and saying Da.

has become picky about what she eats. She loves fruits, breads, meats and sweets, but does not like veggies. She puts them in her mouth and then spits them right back out. For now, we are going to stick with baby food veggies, which she will still tolerate.

is falling back into a great sleeping routine. She sleeps from about 8pm-7am. I nurse her and lay her back down and she sleeps til about 9am. That's great! She is also getting so much better about napping. She takes a great morning nap- about 1.5-2hrs and an okay afternoon nap- about an hour.

She LOVES looking at books. She turns the pages and pat the pictures.

It makes her very happy to sit in someones lap and listen to stories.

Is VERY smart! I know all moms think this of their children, but Mia really is smart! :)
She knows how to sign 'more', 'touchdown', 'so big', 'bye bye', 'milk', 'all done', 'please', 'hat', 'eat', 'fan'. She understands the words 'sit down', 'lay down', 'dog', 'drink', 'paci', 'jump'..and several more I can't think of right now.

"chews gum" When you tell her to chew gum, she pretends to be chewing something and moves

her tongue around. It's darn cute!

is ready for HUSKER football! Go Skers'! Daddy taught her to sign- touchdown!

LOVES taking baths! We are just letting her take baths out of her bath seat. It makes me really nervous because she constantly crawls around and tries to stand up. Craig thinks it is really funny when she accidentally sticks her face in the water. Luckily the last several times she has just blown bubbles when her face goes under.

just learned to blow kisses. She has been giving kisses for quiet a while now, but she now puts her hand to her mouth and then puts it down if you tell her to blow kisses. She doesn't make the kissing sound yet, but it's still so sweet.

is growing more and more hair. Her little blond hair is growing like crazy and is getting kind of wild. She usually has some pretty crazy bed head in the morning. My mom says it looks just like my hair when I was her age.

Just started to be a little bit snuggly. She is usually constantly on the go, always looking for the next best thing. Recently she has started resting her head on my shoulder or kissing my cheek and it melts my heart!

loves to pick up the 'phone' (anything she has in her hand- a roll, medicine syringe, squirt toy...) and call nana. She always put her hand up to her ear and says- uuaahh (which means "hello?")

is OBSESSED with fans. She is constantly looking at the ceiling everywhere we go to see if there are fans. She does the sign for fan and gets really excited when she sees one.

Makes all kinds of silly faces. Sticking her tongue out is one of her favorites.
She sure knows how to get a laugh.

Has just started making this REALLY funny face. We call it evil eyes because she squints her eyes really right and wrinkles her nose. Everyone always laughs at her so she just continues doing it. I think the best part about it is that she is so serious when she does it. She knows she is being funny, but she doesn't laugh- its great! I will try to get a picture of it so you can all enjoy it as well.

can walk around furniture and the inside of her crib. She doesn't seem that close to walking to me, but she can take steps while holding on to things. We'll see- everyone keeps saying she will be walking any day. I am so not ready for that!

Has 2 little bottom teeth. The first one broke through on Aug 1st and the second on Aug 2nd. The pedi said that the top 2 will come thru any day- so we are waiting! She looks sooo cute with those 2 little teeth.

Mia gets more and more fun everyday! She is EXTREMELY busy and loves to get in to EVERYTHING, but I don't know what my days consisted of before her. I love you little peanut!
