We found that when we don't have our adorable little Mia, we don't take pictures! I took the camera but we never even took 1 picture! I guess nothing is cute enough to take pictures of without Mia!
She did fantastic staying with my parents. My mom said she would ask for us but never got upset about us being gone- glad it went so well- maybe we can go away again then!
A week after we got back from Chicago, we drove to Tulsa for Craig to be in a good friend's wedding. We have never been to Tulsa and driving there was terrible with all of the flood detours around NE and IA. Instead of the 6 hrs it should have taken us, it took us 9! Mia did really well- thank God for portable DVD players!
All ready to go- she has a snack, milk, bear and Max & Ruby!
Mia and I skipped the actual wedding because Mia refused to nap in the hotel room that day and I was so afraid she would sit and shout "daddy" during the wedding like she did during the rehearsal! That's not quite as cute when it's not your kid! :)
This was the first wedding reception Mia has been to since she was old enough to enjoy the party! And she LOVED it. She loved dancing with us, she loved having glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets from the bride and groom, she loved having cake and candy several times throughout the night and she LOVED running around on the dance floor WAY past her bedtime!
Mia doing the YMCA with daddy!! She took this dance very seriously!
More YMCA!
Our only family picture from the trip
It was over 105 degrees every day we were in Tulsa so we didn't get to do too many fun vacation-y kind of things. I had planned on us hiking in a national park and going to outdoor concerts- waaay too hot for that!
So, Mia made her first Build a Bear- we named her Ruby but she calls her Booby! Great! :)
Mia helping stuff the bear- I think this whole experience was more exciting for me than for her!
Ruby- Mia's vacation bear- in a bikini with a beach towel- so cute!
Craig took Mia swimming every morning while I got ready for the day! Mia LOVED this routine!
As soon as she was done with breakfast she would start saying pool, pool, pool!
Here's a few videos of my little fish:
The first night we had a great Mexican dinner and then walked around an outside mall- we didn't last long!
Mia was so excited to see a little splash park at the mall- we had to let her play in her dress!
We found a great splash park to play at- it was WAY less busy than ours are.
Loving the water!
We tried to do mostly indoor activities. We went to the Tulsa Aquarium- in my opinion our Zoo Aquarium is better and it's include with our zoo pass, but it was neat that Mia got to touch some water animals!
Here she is touching a starfish.
She was so brave- I love that about her- she'll just jump right in and try something new!
Here she is touching a horseshoe crab!
This was daddy's favorite- a big turtle pond!! Mia and daddy watched the turtles for a long time!
Touching a squishy sea cucumber- it looked so gross!
Back at the turtles- saying good bye!
We had a great trip and it was so fun to have some much needed family time!

Glad to see some pics from the summer. We just took Keira to a wedding recently and she LOVED dancing the night away as well! They are so fun at this age, now that they understand what is going on! ;)
